Monday Faith Links: Church Marketing, Death, and Burning the Qur’an

This is my first attempt at what I intend to be a weekly feature, aggregating some of the more interesting faith-related links that I have found while either surfing the Web, keeping watch on Twitter, in emails, etc., etc.

These are meant to be relevant, thought-provoking links and don’t necessarily represent how I view things. If I have an opinion on something, I’ll clearly state it here or in the introduction to each link. So, hopefully you find these links interesting, and feel free to post links to other stories in the comments section.

  • Interesting facts and figures on churches, as compiled by Christianity Today. Perhaps the most shocking statistic to me was that 22 percent of churches actually DON’T have a website.
  • I think that all of us at some point have had fears about death. Author Donald Miller has an interesting take about this for Relevant Magazine.
  • What’s the most effective marketing image that a church can use? According to Chris Haw from the ever-interesting Relevant Magazine, church marketing should begin and end with the cross.
  • I’m a huge fan of John Piper, and really good site to bookmark is his DesiringGod.org, especially the Desiring God blog. Here’s a post comparing the recent burning of the Qur’an and Christ’s crucifixion.
